Frequently Asked Questions
A guardianship is a legal relationship where a court grants an individual or entity (the guardian) the authority to make personal and/or financial decisions for another person (the ward) who is unable to manage their own affairs due to incapacity, age, or disability.
A receivership is a court-appointed remedy where an independent, neutral third party (the receiver) is given custodial responsibility over a business or property. This typically occurs when a company is in financial distress, involved in a legal dispute, or facing insolvency.
The receiver's primary role is to manage the assets responsibly, preserve their value, and ensure compliance with court orders while the underlying legal or financial issues are resolved.
